Today, the Buddhist community of Russia carefully preserves the invaluable spiritual heritage of its ancestors, their unique art and customs. It directs its efforts towards harmonising interreligious and interethnic dialogue, strengthening family values, educating the youth, restoring ancient monasteries and building new ones, and implementing educational projects. And I am convinced that it is ready to share this rich experience with the forum participants and international guests.

Forums in Russia
The International Buddhist Forum is an event that brings together representatives of Buddhism from all over the world to discuss pressing issues related to the development of Buddhism, Buddhist culture, philosophy and practice, as well as to strengthen international cooperation among Buddhist organisations from different countries.
The first three forums were held in Buryatia in 2023 and 2024, and in Kalmykia in 2025. The organisers were the Buddhist Traditional Sangha of Russia, the Government of the Republic of Buryatia, the Government of the Republic of Kalmykia, and the Foundation for the Promotion of Buddhist Education and Research, with the support of the Roscongress Foundation.

For the participants
We would like to inform you that a single‑entry visa is required to enter the Russian Federation. For participants requiring visa support, a letter of guarantee will be issued to submit the documents to the consular office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia in your country of residence.
Visa support for forum participants
Submit your personal data to receive a letter of guarantee for visa application.
To expedite the visa process, send the following to your delegate manager:
- Name (as in passport, Latin script): surname, first name, patronymic.
- Passport: series, number, date of birth, issue and expiry dates.
- Visa application city.
Simplified visa processing is available only in the specified city.
Visa application information
A visa must be applied for at your place of permanent residence and citizenship.
If you reside permanently in a third country with a valid residence permit, please notify your delegate manager immediately.
To process the letter of guarantee, submit the required data without delay.
Note: consular and service fees are the responsibility of the participants.
Visa Application: Step‑by‑Step Guide
1. Complete the electronic application form on the MFA Russia website: http://visa.kdmid.ru/.
2. After submission, you will receive an e‑mail with the date of your appointment at the Russian consular office.
3. Participants who submitted data for visa support will receive a telex for priority visa processing
4. Apply for the visa at the consular office with the telex in consular office of Russian MFA to get your visa in priority.
Note: your international passport must remain valid for at least 6 months after the visa expiration date.
To become a speaker or moderator, you must submit a request to the program
preparation working group via email: info@buddhistfund.ru Please include the following information:
- your contact details;
- job title;
- organization;
- brief thesis of your presentation on the selected topic.
The organizing committee will review your request and send you a response via email.
